Samsung Enters 2009 Strong with Four HD Camcorders - HMX-H106, HMX-H105, HMX-H104, and HMX-H100
Samsung has greatly expanded its high definition camcorder line for 2009 with four models in the newly coined "H-Series." The HMX-H106, HMX-H105, and HMX-H104 feature internal solid state memory (64GB, 32GB, and 16GB, respectively). The HMX-H100 records to memory card only. All four feature a 1/4.5-inch 2.2-megapixel CMOS sensor and record 1920 x 1080 video in the H.264 format. (View Photo Gallery)

Canon Returns with Another HDV Camcorder, the HV40
Canon yet again updated its HDV camcorder line with a single model, announcing today the new Vixia HV40. Few changes have been made since the last year\'s Vixia HV30, which was rated favorably earlier this year by Camcorderinfo.com. The key new feature on the HV40 is the addition of native 24P recording. In previous generations, Canon has included a digital emulation of 24P and 30P. There is also a new Custom Key button on the lens barrel for multiple manual control functions.
Canon Pushes Pro Features for Flagship HD Camcorders in \'09 - HF S100, HF S10, HF20, and HF200
Canon announced the release of four high definition flash memory camcorders today. Two models, the HF S100 and HF S10, are loaded with features clearly aimed to entice budget-minded professionals and amateur filmmakers. Canon\'s Three New Entry-Level Flash Memory Camcorders - FS22, FS21, and FS200
Canon announced three new standard definition camcorders today. Two, the FS22 and the FS21, offer media options of internal flash memory and a card slot, along with a 1.07-megapixel CCD, and the return of a 48x Advanced Zoom (37x optical zoom). Canon Rounds out Line-up with Two DVD, One MiniDV Camcorder - DC410, DC420, and ZR960
Canon has decided to update its standard definition DVD and MiniDV line, albeit reduced, rather than simply carrying over the previous year\'s models. The ZR960 MiniDV camcorder has been upgraded to include filter threads and Quick Start for faster start-up times. The DC410 and DC420 DVD camcorders are more similar to previous models, carrying over features like Advanced Zoom. (View Photo Gallery)
