-Greetings fellow Frugonians (yes, we will lump all who have
knowledge of our existence into this confined, though brilliant label).
Because we have not released an official short film in months, most of
you guys may be wondering where we've been all this time. After all, we
ARE in the midst of summer—the most reasonable, if not the best time to
produce films. Without further ado, we will address these questions as
detailed and concise as possible. Despite our seemingly unproductive
repertoire of recent material, we have been working behind the camera
to secure a string of future projects to come.
Upcoming Projects:
"Survivor: Alhambra High School Edition" - Currently Filming
- In the veins of our previous project, "Once in a
Lifetime", we have decided to hop back on board with Alhambra High
School's (AHS) Student Council to help produce this short film, which
will be shown to an audience of incoming freshmen on August 25th. The
general idea of the video is for it to act as an orientation for
students new to the school, and just like the title suggests, it uses
the guise of a reality show (specifically Survivor) to fulfill the aspect of entertainment.
"Knock a Kid, Run" - Pending Filming
- Initially, this short film was supposed to start production before Survivor: AHS Edition.
However, due to a diverse cast the shooting dates have been postponed
on numerous occasions (up to 6 times). As for its current status, it
has been placed on hold for the next 2-3 weeks on account of one of our
key actors, who is now on vacation in Australia. We will see to its
progress upon his return.
-What makes Knock a Kid, Run different from our previous projects is the fact that we have collaborated with a local production crew. TBH Productions
(youtube: http://www.youtube.com/user/TBHProduction , official
site: http://tbhproductions.com/ ) has agreed to lend a hand with
producing this film.
Other Projects:
- Aside
from the aforementioned pieces, Frugo Productions and TBH Productions
have worked closely together to produce a few special effects tests. We
would like to thank TBH director Jason Vong for making this possible.
We have also jumped on board to help TBH Productions with their "Are
You a Nice Guy?" submission for the Wong Fu Productions' contest. So be
on the lookout for that submission.
- On another note, Frugo
Productions has yet to approach a few scripted, or yet to be scripted
ideas of their own. Le Nguyen has recently completed scripting a short
film entitled "Starburst", Bryan Quan is currently brainstorming a project of his own, and Allan Tran is currently scripting a piece entitled "...alla coda".
--------------------
-
As you can see, our current status can be described as a freight of
potential energy yet to be released. The pot is brewing, so stay tuned
for more in the future.
