*Survivor: Alhambra High School Edition* - post-production
Last time we mentioned that Survivor: AHS Edition was in its shooting stages, but hey, nothing spells progress more than post-production—LATE post-production to be more precise. An exact estimate (paradox, we know) of its current state would be a good 90% on the progress bar, the remaining 10% include one final overview (sound check, image cropping, reparable goofs, etc.) and the exportation of the video itself. Yes, that means we’re literally this close to obtaining the final product.
Survivor: AHS Edition will premiere at the Alhambra High School (our school) auditorium as part of the incoming freshmen orientation on August 25th. An online release date (in other words, youtube…) will follow shortly, if not right after the public showing. For those of you in want of a solid date, expect an August 27th release at the latest. And I repeat, that’s at the latest, meaning an earlier release date is very likely. This will be our second collaboration with a school organization, the former being our high school’s 2008 Prom video, Once in a Lifetime.
*Dirty Money, Dirtier People* - pre-production
Le Nguyen and I (Allan Tran) have once again joined forces to work on a screenplay for an upcoming short film. As the heading suggests, this short will be tentatively titled Dirty Money, Dirtier People. So far, our status on the film is still in its late beginning stages, meaning we are nearly finished with the penning of the film. On the progress bar, I’d say we are at a good 90% through with the script. I know, you may be the thinking we’re just throwing “90%” around like it’s disposable currency, but we assure you, it’s a good number to describe where we stand. We've finished writing and developing the screenplay, the only thing we need thus far is to spruce up the banter and work out the kinks to maintain its freshness. I mean, some ideas get old...we try to make the material stand the test of time as best as possible.
Enough about our progress. What’s it about? Well, as of late we cannot confide in you guys just yet, but what we will tell you is that its source material is inspired by a true event—one that pertains to us (Le and I). But I'm sure you guys can pretty much deduct from the title itself: it's gonna be about money, and it's gonna be about the people involved...just dirtier. It’s a pretty amusing story (at least we think so...), even more so when you’re directly involved, but that information will come out fairly soon in the future. Frankly, Le’s character, which was the product of the situation itself, is genius. We had a lot of fun writing and working on this script, so expect more on its development.
