*Knock a Kid, Run* - hiatus

It is sad to say that this particular project has been called off during late pre-production. Despite having gone through long discussions, “final” casting calls, seemingly elaborate plans and not to mention a completed script, KAKR’s status is in a way an aborted fetus (that may be a bit extreme, considering KAKR is currently on hiatus, and not technically dead). This is due to a cast of college-bound young men with busy schedules—it is understandable that the production timeslots will be somewhat of a problem for such a diverse cast to gather on separate occasions. On a similar note, the boys at Frugo also have school to worry about. We may have plans to recast certain roles in the future as well as to produce this film, but for now, we will be moving on to more practical projects (which will be explained beneath this section, provided that you still have the interest to read on).

*Dirty Money, Dirtier People* - pending filming

Without further adieu, Dirty Money, Dirtier People (for a brief synopsis of sorts, read a few of our previous news posts) will be our upcoming short. The screenplay has been finalized, and casting has officially begun. The next step is to get everybody involved on the same page. Akin to a few of our recent projects, our great friends at TBH Productions are planned to be on board with us in both acting and producing departments. So be on the lookout for this short toward the end of this month (September).

P.S. Don't forget to check out Turf War if you haven't yet. Please help TBH and Frugo Productions by viewing, rating and favoriting.

*Turf War* - completed

As some of you know, TBH and Frugo Productions have collaborated on a short entitled Turf War (as the header suggests). Well, we're just gonna keep this post short and skip any further space filler to launch straight into the crux of the matter: Turf War is OUT NOW!

Since this video is part of Wong Fu's "Are You a Nice Guy?" contest, we hope you, the reader/viewer, will rate and spread the news of the video's existence in order to help our friends (TBH) ascend the steps of this contest. Very much thanks. We had a great time shooting this video (as some of you will tell), so we hope you guys enjoy it as much as we did making it.

Keep it funky fresh party people.

*Survivor: Alhambra High School Edition* - completed

The Premiere

So Survivor: AHS Edition premiered this morning (August 25th) at roughly 9 AM to a fairly fruitful audience of incoming freshmen. The response? Hard to tell, the boys of Frugo (I know, I should stop referring to us in third person) were border-locked by members of Executive, so most of the laughter we experienced was in proximity…subsequently drowning out the rest of the viewer’s reactions (provided there were reactions…). Well, Executive and Frugo Productions have worked really hard on this project throughout most of August, so it was a pretty fun deal to watch our blood-drenched toil on the big screen.

We just want to thank Alhambra High School’s Fall Executive (’08) for giving us this opportunity to work with them once again (the last being Once in a Lifetime, although that organization was Junior Council…but hey,  it’s along the same branch nonetheless). There are a good number of schools out there who wouldn’t have made it possible for us to collaborate, but fortunately, we’re lucky to be students of AHS in that respect. We would also like to thank Jason Vong of TBH Productions  for getting himself involved on this project by taking the position of camera operator on certain shots and keeping the directors in check. And last but not least, we would like to give a shout-out to our supporters (ahem, Rebecca and Michelle…and others, if there were any others…) who showed up bright and early to, well, support us. Much thanks. We’re being a tad overly thankful at the moment…so why not thank you, the reader, for taking the time to read this post (again, provided there are ,or rather, there is a reader reading right now).

In other news….

*Turf War* - post-production (a TBH production)

Recently, we’ve collaborated with TBH Productions on their Are you a Nice Guy? contest submission (hosted by Wong Fu). TBH promptly gathered everybody (meaning most, if not all of TBH and Frugo) to shoot the set of Turf War (the aptly named title of said film). TBH director Jason Vong is currently an estimated 60% done with post-production, so be on the lookout for this upcoming picture. Expect plenty of ludicrous explosions and special effects, and to accompany that, sub-par acting. Trust, that’s not a deprecatory statement, I mean all that in a good way.
